In addition to being a lead DJ and organizer of the “Ecstaturday” Ecstatic Dance in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park\, she is also a resident DJ in partnership with The Omni Movement\, a progressive partner dance studio located in Oakland. You’ll most commonly find her playing for Fusion Dance\, Brazilian Zouk\, or West Coast Swing around the Bay Area\, though she also holds passion for her unique take on club-style EDM. As a highly multidisciplinary DJ and music producer\, she brings lessons and influences from each of the music scenes she’s involved with into all of the others\, giving her a unique perspective that allows her to hybridize the elements that work from the different scenes and let them inform each other. \nQuintessence is a master of the intentional dance journey. She begins with tempos and rhythms designed to warm the body up while the melodic content creates emotional depth and intrigue that set the stage for what’s to come. Each stage successively builds on what we’ve experienced in the last\, taking us somewhere new that still feels part of the same story. The crescendos and climaxes interplay with periods of moderate rest and reflection to create a series of waves through various energies and moods. Her love affair with dance began on the Big Island of Hawai‘i\, at Kalani — the birthplace of ecstatic dance — where for 3 years living on island she experienced firsthand how the power of dance in community can restore the human spirit. In 2024\, she stepped behind the decks to facilitate that same sense of aliveness for others. Her sets blend earthy globally inspired rhythms\, modern groove-driven electronica\, the occasional old school throw back\, and booty-shakin praise music. Both ancient and fresh\, Arielle’s sets move through downtempo soul\, deep bass\, and ecstatic uplift\, inviting dancers into embodied joy and remembrance of who they truly are. She brings a shamanic quality into her sets\, both through song choice and through her live vocals woven into the music. As a long-time facilitator of transformational spaces\, she is inspired to curate music journeys that support people to embody\, integrate\, and alchemize the human experience. She holds a BFA in Dance from S.U.N.Y Purchase\, and has 2 decades of experience as a movement facilitator. She is well known for her loving approach to yoga that was developed while living and teaching at Harbin Hot Springs and through her mentorship with Angela Farmer. \nShannon enjoyed being the manager and sacred space holder for Ecstatic Dance Oakland from 2017-2024. She has studied extensively with many of the early pioneers of Contact Improvisation and loves articulating the mechanics of weight sharing for those unfamiliar with the form. She brings delight to the space with her unique ability to create safety while spicing things up with humor and spontaneity. The constraint of the blindfold invites dancers to explore other senses to find connection\, expression\, pleasure\, and safety. These workshops take participants on a journey of somatic self-discovery and non-verbal consent via solo and group exercises—both with and without blindfolds. \n \nCANDICE HOLDORF\nCandice is a writer and coach with a focus on reclaiming erotic embodiment through exploring shame and shadow. In addition to being a lead DJ and organizer of the “Ecstaturday” Ecstatic Dance in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park\, she is also a resident DJ in partnership with The Omni Movement\, a progressive partner dance studio located in Oakland. You’ll most commonly find her playing for Fusion Dance\, Brazilian Zouk\, or West Coast Swing around the Bay Area\, though she also holds passion for her unique take on club-style EDM. As a highly multidisciplinary DJ and music producer\, she brings lessons and influences from each of the music scenes she’s involved with into all of the others\, giving her a unique perspective that allows her to hybridize the elements that work from the different scenes and let them inform each other.Quintessence is a master of the intentional dance journey. She begins with tempos and rhythms designed to warm the body up while the melodic content creates emotional depth and intrigue that set the stage for what’s to come.
